The charts below show how you should position your truck on any CAT Scale, depending on your trailer type.
As you can see, all three axles are on the scale at one time.Drive onto the scale so that your steer axle is positioned on platform 1, your drive axle on platform 2 and your trailer axle on platform 3.
If you are weighing a spread-axle trailer you will need to move your truck during the weighing process. You start out your weigh the same as if you were pulling a standard trailer. Position 1: Your steer axle should be positioned on platform 1 and your drive axle on platform 2. The weighmaster will then ask you to pull forward. Position 2: Your front trailer axle should be on platform 2 and your rear trailer axle on platform 3.
As with a split-axle trailer, weighing an oversized load will also require you to move your truck during the weighing process. As you pull onto the scale make sure that your truck is in position 1. Position 1: Your steer axle should be positioned on platform 1 and your drive axle on platform 2. Position 2: The trailer axle of your first trailer would be on platform 1, front axle on your second trailer should on platform 2 and rear axle of your second trailer on platform 3.
When weighing your truck and trailer it must be completely on the scale and it is best if you position the steer axle (front wheels) of the truck on platform 1, and the drive axle or rear axle of the truck on platform 2. The trailer will normally show up on platform 3.
When weighing your motorhome, it must be completely on the scale and it is best if you position the steer axle (front wheels) of the motorhome on platform 1, and the drive axle or rear axle of the motorhome on platform 2. Platform 3 will likely be empty. Please note: Our scales can give you axle weights and a total gross weight, however, they cannot weigh each corner of the vehicle. We cannot provide individual wheel weights and, to prevent damage to your vehicle as well as our scales, do not allow that type of weighing.

When weighing your straight truck, it must be completely on the scale and it is best if you position the steer axle (front wheels) of the straight truck on platform 1, and the drive axle or rear axle of the motorhome on platform 2. Platform 3 will likely be empty.
When weighing your straight truck and tow car, the straight truck must be completely on the scale and it is best if you position the steer axle (front wheels) of the straight truck on platform 1, and the drive axle or ear axle of the straight truck on platform 2. The tow car will normally show up on platform 3.
When weighing your truck and boat it must be completely on the scale and it is best if you position the steer axle (front wheels) of the truck on platform 1, and the drive axle or rear axle of the truck on platform 2. The boat trailer will normally show up on platform 3.
